No matter what challenges a person faces at different stages of life, a self improvement program plans to make the person meet the challenges with total confidence. A person is able to bring more control and benefits to his life in various ways.</p>

If you only want a positive change during New Year, you will be most disappointed. You have to want positive changes everyday of your life, not only during New Year.</p>
<p style="text-align: justify;">Make it a point to stick to it. It is fine even if you fail to keep at it in the beginning, as long as you make a decision that each time you fall, you will stand up again, again and again.</p>

<p style="text-align: justify;">When we look at a certain object, a painting for example - we won&#8217;t be able to appreciate what&#8217;s in it, what is painted and what else goes with it if the painting is just an inch away from our face. But if we try to take it a little further, we&#8217;ll have a clearer vision of the whole work of art.</p>
<p style="text-align: justify;">We reach a point in our lives when we are ready for change. A whole pile of information that will help us unlock our self improvement power becomes evident because we are now searching for something to benefit us.</p>
<p style="text-align: justify;">Until then, something can be staring us right in the face, but we don&#8217;t see it. The only time we think of unlocking our self improvement power is when everything goes wrong. For some, it&#8217;s not until they hit &#8220;rock bottom.&#8221;</p>
<p style="text-align: justify;">Take a couple of frogs as an example -</p>
<p style="text-align: justify;">Try placing Frog A in a pot of boiling water. What happens? He twerps! He jumps off! Why; because he is not able to tolerate sudden change in his environment - the water&#8217;s temperature.</p>
<p style="text-align: justify;">Now try Frog B: place him in a luke warm water, then turn the gas stove on. Wait until the water reaches a certain boiling point. Frog B then thinks &#8220;Ooh &#8230; it&#8217;s a bit warm in here.&#8221;</p>
<p style="text-align: justify;">People are like Frog B in general. Today, Anna thinks Carl hates her. Tomorrow, Patrick walks up to her and told her he hates her. Anna stays the same and doesn&#8217;t mind what her friend says.</p>
<p style="text-align: justify;">The next day, she learns that Kim and John also abhor her. Anna doesn&#8217;t realize the importance of, and the need for, self improvement until the entire community hates her. But it&#8217;s never too late!</p>
<p style="text-align: justify;">We learn our lessons when we experience pain. We finally see the warning signs and signals when things get rough and tough.</p>
<p style="text-align: justify;">When do we realize that we need to change our diet? When none of our jeans and shirts fit us any longer! When do we stop eating candies and chocolates? When all of our teeth have fallen out!</p>
<p style="text-align: justify;">When do we realize that we need to stop smoking? When our lungs have gone bad and we can&#8217;t breathe any longer.</p>
<p style="text-align: justify;">When do we pray and ask for help? When we realize that we&#8217;re going to die tomorrow.</p>
<p style="text-align: justify;">The only time most of us ever learn about unlocking our self improvement power is when our whole world is crashing and falling apart all around us.</p>
<p style="text-align: justify;">We think and feel this way because it is not easy to accept the fact that we need to change. But change becomes even more painful when we ignore it.</p>
<p style="text-align: justify;">Change will happen, like it or hate it. At one point or another, we are all going to experience different turning points in our lives - and we are all going to eventually unlock our self improvement power. Not because the world says so, not because our friends are nagging us, but because we realized it&#8217;s for our own good.</p>
<p style="text-align: justify;">Happy people don&#8217;t just accept change, they embrace it. Now, you don&#8217;t have to feel the tremendous heat before realizing the need for self improvement.</p>
<p style="text-align: justify;">Unlocking your self improvement power means unlocking yourself from being in the state of mind that &#8220;it&#8217;s just the way I am.&#8221; That is such a poor excuse for people who fear and resist change. Most of us program our minds like computers.</p>
<p style="text-align: justify;">Jen repeatedly tells everyone that she doesn&#8217;t have the guts to be around groups of people. She hears her parents, sister, and her teacher state the same things about her to other people.</p>
<p style="text-align: justify;">Over the years, that is what Jen believes. She believes it&#8217;s her story and that just &#8220;the way I am.&#8221; And what happens? Every time a large crowd would come over to their house, in school, or in the community - she tends to step back, shy away and lock herself up in a room. Jen didn&#8217;t only believe in her story, she lived it.</p>
<p style="text-align: justify;">Jen has to realize that she is not what she is in her story. Instead of having her story posted on her face for everyone to remember, she has to have the spirit to show people &#8220;I am an important person and I should be treated accordingly!&#8221;</p>
<p style="text-align: justify;">Self improvement may not be everybody&#8217;s favorite word, but if we look at things in a different point of view, we might have a greater chance of enjoying the whole process instead of counting the days until we are fully improved.</p>
<p style="text-align: justify;">Three sessions in a week at the gym would result in a healthier life, reading books instead of watching TV or playing video games will enlighten us with more profound knowledge. Going out with friends and peers will help you take a step back from work and unwind.</p>

<p>For any aspect of self-improvement, there has to be a reason for you to start and keep going. That is your motivation - the reason for doing what you do. In order to attempt any sort of improvement in your life, you need to be motivated in some way to get started. Strategies for self-improvement start with defining what it is you want to achieve and then charting a course through which you can effect the improvements or changes. These do not have to be drastic changes - they could be something as simple as making time for yourself to write in a journal each day or something to improve your health, such as quitting smoking.</p>
<p>Motivation comes from within. It is something that you want to do for you. This is what keeps you going, getting up each day and going off to work. Children are often the motivating force behind parents saving money, when they would ordinarily blow it on something frivolous. You know that you will need money for your children&#8217;s higher education or to give them the extras that they want, such as toys and brand name clothing. This is the reason that you work each day, maintain a home and spend time enjoying each other.</p>
<p>If you don&#8217;t have something to look forward to or see some sense of gratification in what you do, then there is no motivation to get doing it. Just meeting with colleagues helps you get a sense of who you are and your place in the world. Socialization, confidence and improvement are three main aspects of life. When you enjoy life, you can be motivated to achieve great things. Achievement does not have to be something that everyone recognizes.</p>

<p>A large number of people read a lot of self improvement books, or maybe I should say a lot of beginnings of self improvement books, but not that many actually finish the books, and even fewer start applying the ideas or exercises they are presented with in the books. While they may like the book and the suggestions in it, most people have a short attention span, and before they get around to applying the new information, their eyes gets caught by another great book, or something entirely different, and they quickly move on without getting any really life altering benefits from it.</p>
<p>The secret behind good self improvement and personal development is that when you find something you think might benefit you, you look further into the subject, either by buying and reading a book about it, or finding information on the subject elsewhere, and finally applying the information in your own life and thereby creating the improvements you desire.</p>
<p>Remember it is always good to learn new things from reading a good book on the subject, but the information has to be put to good use if you really wish to benefit from it.</p>
<p>Even Faster Self Improvement Is Possible</p>
<p>If you have interest in speeding up your self improvement even further, perhaps you should consider looking into self hypnosis or meditation.<br />
Meditation is good for the soul and helps creating an inner calm, while self hypnosis is a very useful tool for implementing changes in your behaviour.</p>
<p>In order to get any benefits from either of these methods you will have to be consistent in using and or applying them in your life. Regular use of meditation or self hypnosis will strengthen what ever have gone before it so to speak.<br />
Actually it is like with every new thing, in the beginning it is not so easy, and it takes some effort both to apply it, and to stay with the programme, but after a while, it more or less becomes automatic or second nature to you, and that is when you will start to really notice the benefits.</p>
<p>If you are interested in learning meditation I would recommend you look for a personal teacher, as you will be playing around with the powers of your own psyche and as you immerse deeper into the techniques you might be stirring up old emotions that can be difficult to tackle on your own.</p>
<p>A trained meditation teacher will be aware that these things happen in advance, and is equipped to handle the emotions and explain to you how to deal with them.</p>
<p>Actually self improvement by self hypnosis is a very powerful tool, and if you have access to one, I recommend you put it to good use, remember though, buying, and reading the material is not enough, you must apply the information too.</p>

<p>One of the biggest problems that people have with their self improvement efforts is simply that they forget to practice whatever techniques they are supposed to be practicing in order to improve their lives.</p>
<p>The truth of the matter is that you are so used to living your life in a certain way that you often forget to take the appropriate measures to effect long-term positive changes.</p>
<p>Back before the days of computer-generated task lists and automated telephone reminders, people used to tie a piece of yarn around their finger in order to remember that they were supposed to do something. It was a crude, but effective technique.</p>
<p>These days, our daily list of activities is so huge that in order to utilize the yarn technique, we would all run around looking like a blanket or a scarf that was in the process of being created!</p>
<p>An easier to use (and more fashionable) technique is to simply associate things that are in your life with whatever it is that you are supposed to remember to do. Then, every time you come across your associated experience, you will remember to take part in a certain self improvement technique.</p>
<p>For example, let&#8217;s say that you are wanting to improve your financial status in life. There are plenty of tasks that can be part of such a goal, but it has now been proven conclusively that the primary reason why people do not obtain financial success is because they do not have the proper mindset.</p>
<p>Reprogramming your subconscious to see wealth as positive and attainable is a far more effective strategy than simply working more hours, or trying to find &#8220;the next big thing&#8221; that people will pay good money for.</p>
<p>Another example could be weight loss. The very simple method of losing weight and increasing health has been known since long before the days of ultra-high tech diet and fitness programs. That answer is, of course, to eat healthy and to get plenty of exercise.</p>
<p>Again, it is the self-limiting belief about someone&#8217;s ability to follow through with that simple formula that stands in their way. That fact is easily remedied by convincing your subconscious mind that you are both worthy of incredible health, and that it is possible for you to attain it.</p>
<p>One more example - relationships. There are no &#8220;good and bad&#8221; people when it comes to relationships. Every single person on earth has thousands (if not hundreds of thousands) of compatible partners out there, and they just haven&#8217;t run into each other yet.</p>
<p>However, the lonely or relationship-challenged individual will tend to think that there is something wrong with them, or that they are not &#8220;good enough&#8221; to have an incredible relationship, so they keep subconsciously reinforcing that same self-limiting belief over and over again in their mind.</p>
<p>In each of the cases listed above, as well as any other circumstance you can think of that needs improvement, the baseline solution is the same: Reprogram your thinking, and you will reprogram your reality.</p>
<p>Two simple and free ways to reprogram your thinking are through the use of what are popularly called &#8220;affirmations&#8221; or &#8220;visualizations.&#8221; In reality, however, both of those tools are simply glorified reminders about what you are supposed to be thinking. The trick to using them is to simply remember to do so!</p>
<p>In order to trip that memory switch, simply assign an affirmation or a visualization reminder to a common occurrence in your life, which, when it occurs, will remind you to reprogram your thinking.</p>
<p>In the case of wealth, you could find a certain shape that you equate with money - a circle for instance. Then, each time you see a circular shape, such as a coin, a coaster, the rim of a cup or a glass, you stop what you are doing and say your affirmation, or take 30 seconds and perform whatever visualization you have set up in advance.</p>
<p>For health, you can do the same thing, only this time, choose another common occurrence, such as a color. If you choose green as your &#8220;health&#8221; color, then every time you see the color green, you reaffirm to yourself that you are thin, healthy, and attractive, or you picture yourself looking sexy or vigorous in a visualization.</p>
<p>With regard to relationships, maybe you could choose a sound, such as the email sound on your computer, your dog barking, or the sound of a car engine. Each time you hear that sound, say your relationship affirming mantra in your head, or visualize yourself with your dream mate.</p>
<p>Each of these examples are meant to just give you an idea of how this whole process works, and you are encouraged to come up with your own reminder system. The key to the process is consistency, however. Your reminders need to be things that you experience several times every single day.</p>
<p>After repeatedly affirming and visualizing your desires over and over again many times each day, eventually you will reprogram yourself for whatever success it is that you are after, and the whole thing won&#8217;t have cost you any money, or even any significant amount of your time.</p>
